Why was there a need for a Montessori organization in Pakistan?

In almost all developed countries Montessori organizations are working in the private sector for the development and promotion of early childhood education. Some of the renowned names include International Montessori Council, Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators, California Montessori Council, Montessori India, Association Montessori International (AMI), Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE).

Now due to the efforts of these organizations Montessori method of teaching has establish firm roots in the countries where they are working. Today, Montessori method is the most wide-spread system of teaching at pre-school level in the world.

In Pakistan, however, even after 100 years since the world became known to this excellent system, we hardly have done anything in this respect. Firstly, we need to spread awareness regarding the importance of the absorbent age (3 to 6 years). This is the most important period of one's life and if proper training and appropriate experiences are not provided, complete development of the faculties of mind and senses does not take place. Secondly, we need to train our teachers and implement this system of education in our schools for a brighter next generation. On the contrary, most of our schools have been continuously using the traditional ways of teaching, which ultimately produce most of the students with incomplete mental development who hate schools and lack creativity, skill, independence and initiative.

For these reason it became extremely necessary that we also establish an organization like the ones mentioned above which spreads awareness and brings the required changes in our current pre-school educational system. We are eager to have your support and cooperation.
