Both Pakistan Montessori Council (PMC) and Montessori Pakistan are duly registered with the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) of Pakistan. PMC was granted registration in June 2024, followed by Montessori Pakistan in August 2024. Copies of the respective registration certificates are provided below. These registrations are renewed regularly, and their authenticity can be independently verified through NAVTTC.
In addition, PMC contributed to the development and approval of the National Competency Standards for Montessori Training, which were finalized on 9 November 2024. A copy of the approval letter is provided below for reference.
Background
PMC had been accredited by the Skill Development Council (SDC) since its establishment in 2006. The SDC was a joint initiative of the National Training Bureau (NTB), the World Bank, and the Ministry of Labour and Manpower, Pakistan.
Later, as NAVTTC became the apex regulatory authority for vocational and technical training in Pakistan, PMC was unfortunately included in a list of unaccredited and fake institutions in May 2024 (without any notice) through a public notification published on the NAVTTC website available on this link https://navttc.gov.pk/Notices/06_05_24_Beware_of_Fake_Certification2.pdf
This resulted in temporary confusion among our trainees. However, through the concerted efforts of the PMC team, NAVTTC promptly acknowledged PMC’s internationally standardized Montessori training program by granting affiliation to both PMC and MP, and by incorporating Montessori training competency standards into the national framework.
PMC and MP trainings are now fully recognized and certified by NAVTTC. All PMC trainees enrolled after May 2024, as well as those who have completed their training since the establishment of PMC and MP in 2006, are eligible to appear in the NAVTTC final examination and assessment to obtain a renewed, government-recognized certificate.
We highly recommend that all our past graduates renew their certification by taking NAVTTC examination.
